A Magical Family Day Out at Chocolate Ville, Bangkok

A Magical Family Day Out at Chocolate Ville, Bangkok

Bangkok is a city full of surprises, and one of its most enchanting destinations is Chocolate Ville. Despite its name, it’s not actually a chocolate factory (though they do have a chocolate shop!), but a stunning European-style village with beautiful gardens, charming buildings, and a picturesque lake.

Recently, my family and I visited Chocolate Ville, and it turned out to be one of the most delightful experiences we’ve had in Bangkok. If you’re looking for a family-friendly spot with great food, photo opportunities, and a relaxing atmosphere, this place is a must-visit!

Getting to Chocolate Ville

Located in Kaset-Nawamin, Chocolate Ville is about 30-45 minutes from central Bangkok, depending on traffic. We booked a private car for convenience (you can find great deals on Expedia, but you can also take a taxi or ride-sharing app like Grab.

Exploring Chocolate Ville: A Fairytale Setting

As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by colorful European-style buildings, windmills, and a gorgeous lake with a fountain show. The whole place feels like stepping into a storybook village!

Highlights of Our Visit:

✅ Photo Spots Everywhere – From vintage cars to flower gardens, every corner is Instagram-worthy.
✅ Boat Rides on the Lake – A fun little activity for kids (and adults who love a relaxing ride).
✅ Live Music & Evening Lights – The atmosphere gets even more magical after sunset.

The Food: A Feast for the Senses

One of the best parts of Chocolate Ville is its huge open-air restaurant serving Thai and international dishes. Here’s what we tried (and loved!):

1. Grilled River Prawns (กุ้งแม่น้ำเผา)

These were huge, juicy, and perfectly grilled with a smoky flavor. Served with spicy seafood sauce – a must-try!

2. Tom Yum Goong (ต้มยำกุ้ง)

A classic Thai favorite – spicy, sour, and fragrant with fresh herbs and plump shrimp.

3. Crispy Pork Belly (หมูกรอบ)

Super crispy on the outside, tender inside – my kids couldn’t get enough!

4. Chocolate Fondue (for dessert!)

Since it’s called Chocolate Ville, we had to try their rich, melted chocolate with fruits and marshmallows. Pure heaven!

Pro Tip: Book a table near the lake for the best views while dining.

Best Time to Visit Chocolate Ville

  • Late Afternoon (4-5 PM) – Perfect for golden-hour photos.

  • Evening (6 PM onwards) – The lights turn on, creating a romantic and magical vibe.

We stayed until 8 PM, enjoying the cool breeze and the live band playing by the lake.
